so, i'm sure all of you have been seeing the ads over the past several years for 2 new medications for "restless legs syndrome". i've had RLS since i was a kid, and never knew what it was... when i was finally able to put a name to it a few years ago, i was thrilled to know i wasn't the only one who had "wonky legs". so, when these medications came out, i was happily curious... until i discovered that they were originally formulated for parkinson's disease and seizure disorders, and can cause what seems to amount to narcolepsy... that kind of freaked me out.

until i learned recently about some of the other side effects of these medications:

There have been reports of patients taking certain medications to treat Parkinson's disease or RLS, including MIRAPEX, that have reported problems with gambling, compulsive eating, and increased sex drive. It is not possible to reliably estimate how often these behaviors occur to determine which factors may contribute to them. If you or your family members notice that you are developing unusual behaviors, talk to your doctor.

hmmmmmm... rushing off to vegas, hitting the buffet, and getting lots of nookie? SWEET! i would think that's a reason TO take it!

*calling my doctor*
