so, even though all of massachusetts takes president's day as a holiday, i had to work. (it's not a big holiday in philly, where my company is.) it was certainly an easy day, since only 3 of my 8 scheduled offices were actually open. the thing that made it sucktacular was the snow... i woke up to about 3 inches on the ground, and it kept falling all morning. it's hard to look professional when you're walking into a customer's office shaking snow out of your hair and road salt off your shoes!
the shortened day gave me a chance to hit the whole foods market before i headed home to do office work. i've really been in a groove with this "eat like the french" thing, and i wanted to pick up some fresh food for the next couple of days. i picked up a couple of natural yogurts (i'll sweeten them with honey), a great artisanal cheese, some crusty whole-grain rolls, and lots of fresh veggies. lunch was a roll with a small slice of cheese, and one of my favorite salads: baby spinach, peas, cashews, raisins and scallions, with a homemade cashew dressing (i'll post the recipe if anyone wants it). dinner was equally as good: steamed asparagus, and fresh black pepper pasta with a sautee of shallots, garlic, and oyster mushrooms. oh, and a glass of red wine, which i usually never do unless i'm eating out. but it was really enjoyable to sit in the kitchen and have my nice home-cooked meal, instead of scarfing down a Lean Cuisine in front of the tv. i could get used to this!
oh, and good news: the guy i met at the B-side contacted me! we're going out sometime this week, no definite day yet. but at least i'm not wondering any more. *grin*

Date: 2005-02-22 03:39 am (UTC)And seriously, seriously...good luck with your date. As kinda odd as I feel, I know you deserve the very best, and that includes being happy and being with someone who can best appreciate the wonderful person you are.
