random stuff

swingchickieit's snowing out. makes me want to stay in and drink cocoa and veg out for the rest of the night. i was planning on going dancing, but i feel like zzzzzzzzzz...
got a lot accomplished today. i took a half vacation day to scrub the apartment down in case it gets inspected... i hid all the cat stuff, did 2 loads of dishes (by hand... i hate not having a machine), vacuumed the hardwoods and then mopped everything down, changed the bedding, scrubbed the bathroom, and took 6 trips of boxes and stuff down to my storage unit in the basement. oh -- and i went to target and bought new pillows for my bed... they have that new "international bazaar" section with home stuff in the styles of different parts of the world, and i picked up 3 silk pillows from the "asia" section all done in pale blues and browns with sequin accents. they're beautiful. at least if i get audited, i want the place to look nice!
my manager got promoted. turns out that he was down in philly interviewing at the same time i was. *grin* it's a huge move for him, and he'll do great... but it cracks me up because he's already planning his move to philly and i still haven't heard anything about my situation yet. i voicemailed him today and told him that i didn't think i got the job, but that i was on pins and needles and just wanted the "no" if it's coming... he said unfortunately the company isn't great on follow-through like that, and i'll probably get a rejection letter in another couple of weeks. he told me he's gotten a number of them with this company, which made me feel better. he also told me that i should be looking at jobs in the marketing department, instead of just training... he thinks my creativity would be an asset to one of the product teams. i must admit, it would be fun... and i didn't think i was qualified, 'cause i don't have an MBA... but i'm going to start looking to see if anything seems like a good fit.
my new swarovski crystals came in the mail today. they're beyoooooteyful. i'm leaning towards getting a gold ipod and covering it in the fire opal crystals, but WOW will it be bright. the pale green ones are pretty, but not as sparkly as i'd hoped, so no ipod for them...
and most importantly, my little monsters are coming home tomorrow! monkey took a massive dump at the hospital today, so they think she's cleaned out now. and as her attending vet put it, "she's pretty angry and wants to go home". i can only imagine the obnoxious yowling that is echoing down those halls... *sigh* i just want them back. waking up alone this morning completely sucked.
