swingchickie | squee!!!!

so, for those who aren't really into computer games, the "myst" series is very cool. the first game came out in the early 90s, and everyone was abuzz about it... no instructions came with the game, you just popped the CD-ROM in and had to figure it out on your own. basically, you start out in this stunningly beautiful world where there are no people... the purpose of the game is to explore every nook and cranny and solve a bunch of really hard puzzles to figure out where everyone went.

so, in the 3rd installment (3rd? 2nd?), there was a little animal thing called a squee. it was sort of half-rabbit, half-cat. a couple of years ago, a guy on the myst game boards decided to do a little life-size sculpture of the squee, and send it out to anyone who wanted it... their task was to take it around their town for a week or two, take pictures of the squee in various places and post them online, and then place a very small souvenir in the box and ship it to the next person.

this squee has been all over the world, and last week L2 got it for her turn... of course, we took it out for martinis... and it's going to Cheers this weekend... but this is my favorite picture of it... sharing a meal with my little angus. angus didn't even bat an eye.
