swingchickie | "the christmas ten"

i have to stop indulging in holiday eating. south beach is going to hell, i've gained back 5 of the 10 pounds i lost last month. i swear to god, i've been eating like a "survivor" contestant who just got voted off the island. all the holiday parties started this past weekend, and like an idiot i didn't think to ask if there'd be any "real" food... so each place i went, hungry, there was nothing but holiday cakes and cookies. saturday was the worst -- i went to a party in the afternoon and had a mug of cider, a brownie, a Krispy Kreme, and some candied walnuts. oh, and a stalk of celery with peanut butter... that was the healthiest thing there. then i immediately went to that cocktail party i'd mentioned before (yes, the dress looked fab, and i wore those really sparkly shoes), and had 3 glasses of wine and a handful of pita chips. blecch. today starts the return to better eating habits... i can actually feel that my body is "off", and so dammit, i want to feel better again.

in other news, work is going so, SO well. i received 2 monetary awards from my manager over the weekend for projects i've done recently. and yesterday i sent him a message because we've been launching some new data on one of our products, and my conversations were going really really well with customers... turns out the message got forwarded all the way up to a VP in the corporation! so my manager is sending me another award for that. jeez! and... it looks like my group won the annual sales incentive trip, to sanibel island. it'll be confirmed in the next week or two... so that'll be 3 free extra vacation days, plus an all-expenses-paid trip in march! wahoooooo!!!
