my wacky day

swingchickiei don't think you could put more disparate things on my to-do list. here's what my day has been:
* make a hula hoop at 5am
* roundtable conference with a group of attorneys for work
* get interviewed on tape for a work project
* drive into the city to tape an audition for the show Man vs Food

* buy 2 giant rolls of hoop tubing at lowe's
* get my first mammogram (coming up tonight)
here's my casting call video for Man vs Food*, and a massive THANK YOU toshellefly for being my camerawoman and dealing with my flubs and restarts!
* did i post what this was all about? i forget. basically, man vs. food is one of our (me and jack) favorite shows... the host, adam richman, travels all over the country and tries different foods. the foods tend to fall into 3 categories: 1. spiciest thing ever that makes his head explode, 2. big and/or awesome creative food item that's known in the city (e.g. in his philly episode they got a cheesesteak at tony luke's), or 3. some sort of volume-eating challenge like "eat 12 dozen oysters in 5 minutes and win a prize". anyway -- they're switching things up for the 2011 season, and adam will travel around again, but this time he'll also highlight some of the non-food stuff that makes the city special. and they'll have a local show him around in each city. so this video is my "audition" -- you're supposed to do shorter than 2 minutes, and say why your city is awesome and talk about a local food place you like. for a quick hit-and-run attempt, i think it came out OK... certainly better than several of the other videos already posted. fingers crossed! oh, and feel free to share it and get everyone to comment on its awesomeness. it might help my chances. :)

Date: 2010-12-16 09:07 am (UTC)thank you for the compliments and the youtube channel idea, that's super nice. i've actually always loved the thought of hosting a fun show like that, which is why i thought this whole man vs food thing would be a blast to do. :) maybe someday when i have time, in between my full-time job and hoop company and swing dancing classes, i'll think about what it would take :)
