let it rain, let it rain...
Sep. 29th, 2004 07:03 amthis morning is gorgeous. there's a strong cool breeze shaking the trees outside my window, and i've got the windows open a crack to let the fresh air in. it was a bad night last night, so i'm grateful for a morning like this.
last night was the worst the tummy has been so far. i'm beginning to think there's no rhyme or reason to how/when the pain starts, as i'd been fine for almost 2 days and my small dinner was, i thought, a very safe one. but around 6:30 last night, the pain reared its ugly head, and i spent the next 5 hours trying to ride it through. it would have been nice to sprawl on the couch and try to take my mind off of it with tv, but the noise and visuals from the tv were making it worse, so i had to get in bed in the dark and just lay there on my back (being on my side makes it worse). one nice thing, though, is that a bunch of people called to see how i was, so i was able to at least do SOMETHING while i was stuck there. first peter left me a voicemail, then 2 girlfriends from work called to check in on me. then
swingdoc called, concerned, since peter had given her the scoop on how my night was going. (kim, can i tell you how much i love that you're a surgeon?) and my friend L1 called to say hi... and as if she'd read my LJ last week, she was like, "i hope you know that if you have to go to the ER, you can call me." that, combined with all the other calls from everyone, really really warmed my heart.
so i made it through another night. i still feel a little sore, which is new... i might some sick time this morning and work from home to play it safe. just 2 days until my ultrasound... whew.
