swingchickie | unexpected fun stuff

yesterday was just one of those days where all sorts of random fun stuff happens. since my tummy was feeling a bit better, i decided to have a "me afternoon"... i had a light lunch out, did some errands, then came back to read some magazines and take a bubble bath and watch a silly movie. perfect evening. well... as i was halfway through "O" magazine, i started to hear music, and i figured one of my neighbors had turned up their stereo. then i realized it was getting louder... turns out, there was a dixieland band strutting down my little street. i opened the window and leaned out, and just watched this bizarre group of people playing horns walking down the sidewalk. it was a hoot. and even better, as i took my bubble bath later with the window open and a cool fall breeze wafting in, they came back up my street... so i got a bubble bath AND live mood music.

i also got a call from a girlfriend i haven't talked to in about 10 years, the one i'm going to the "camper wedding" with. it was so great to catch up with her after so much time!!! and then my buddy J called and wanted to hang out, so he came over to watch the cheesy movie with me. ("Marci X". and we laughed our asses off.) so it was just a really fun day, with friend surprises and music in the streets and a better tummy. they all come so rarely, it was a real treat. ::grin::
