my main source of advertising for the hoop site, hooping.org, has had a glitch in their advertising system for over a month now. i purchase quarterly text-only ads to put in their sidebar, and the company that they use to do it crapped out and hasn't had the ads back online for weeks. needless to say, my sales have plummeted (talk about easy market research).

of all things, time magazine's new issue has a whole article drooling over how awesome hooping is. and now i have no presence on the very site that they listed as a resource. so i'm hoping to get a banner ad up in the next day or so. the cost of it makes me choke, and i'll have to rush to fill any orders when i'm back from boston... but it's ridiculous to not have our presence out there if people are going to look for info.

so [livejournal.com profile] shellefly, your butt is about to get some exposure. so to speak. :)

Google Adsense has a new-ish feature that allows advertisers to specifically buy space on your site if that's what they want, in addition to their usual insertion of suitable ads from advertisers everywhere. Google does take a healthy cut, but they are never going to just "crap out" on them (in the six years Adsense has been a significant part of my income, they have never once crapped out on me in the slightest). You might suggest it to hooping.org.
