Jun. 14th, 2009 04:32 pmtook some new pictures of the backyard yesterday, so i could compare the growth over just a few weeks. it's crazy. here's the original post a few weeks ago where i showed photos of all the new landscaping...
so here are new shots of the beds, to show the difference a few weeks and a LOT of rain can make.
the hostas in the back bed are starting to bloom now...

and the catmint exploded all over the place. it spread sideways, shot upwards, and is now blooming like crazy. (and the grass they planted along the edge is doing well too, it's the only non-weedy patch of grass in my entire yard.)

this stuff is the craziest... a few weeks ago these were just little stumpy grass-looking things, now they're shooting straight up. this guy in particular is starting to scare the crap out of me... i'm half expecting to wake up one night and find that shoot on its right side wrapped around my neck. :) literally, that shoot appeared within about 3 days. freaky.

and the hostas that i had the guys transplant to the side of my house, the ones jack had transplanted from his house last year that withered and died immediately, are doing well in their new locale. i guess a bit of shade, and lots of rain, is a big help.

it's really fun to watch all this stuff grow, it's like my own little botany class.
