still not easy.

i woke up exhausted again this morning (monkey was especially bad all night, knocking things off the nightstand to wake me every hour)... all i wanted was to brew some coffee and wake up to the smiling faces of katie, matt, ann and al. but oops, no "today show" allowed. dammit. played a couple games of gin online and nursed the coffee to try to rouse myself. had a small breakfast victory this morning... okay, to me it's a big one... i got to EAT CEREAL!!!! for years i've been intolerant to milk, and so eating cereal (which i loooove) has made me violently ill... i just gave up on it 'cause it wasn't worth the pain. but i gave lactaid a second chance this morning (i bought the whole milk this time, instead of the skim which tasted NASTY), and ate a big bowl of cereal with a huge smile on my face and no tummy problems later!!!! wahoo!!!!

had a meeting 1st thing with my team, which is always nice. our monthly meeting is one of the few times we get to see each other. one of our co-workers, A, is on maternity leave, and she showed up at the meeting with the baby so we could all see how adorable he is. she looks fantastic, she's absolutely glowing and has lost every single pregnancy pound (although she was teeny even right before she gave birth). being a mom just totally suits her, and i'm so happy for her.

lunch was incredibly COOL today. i brought chinese to a customer's office, and he practically ran in because he was so behind... we ended up chatting for a sec about one of my products, and he mentioned that they actually do osteoporosis tests right there in their office (most people send their patients to the hospital for the tests). i was intrigued, and asked if i could see the machine (the test is called a DXA, pronounced "dexa")... they went one better, and actually did the tests on me! it was so cool. it's totally painless and non-invasive, it's just an x-ray of your hip and then one of your spine... then a computer analyzes the images and tells you how porous your bones are. so according to the machine, my bones are fine (i'd hope so... otherwise i'd have the bones of a 65 year old! eek!).

dinner with no TV was hard tonight. i read a sample of a cooking magazine i got in the mail, and it was rather unsatisfying (the dinner, and the magazine, and the whole experience). my stomach is at it again, but if i don't go dancing tonight i'm going to die from ennui... so i'm off to take a shower and try to look decent for a few hours.
