one of the gifts i received this year for the holidays is a little kit from Lush... inside was a bath bomb and a "glitter bar". i've used glitter soaps before, but not any from Lush, so i was psyched to take my shower today and give it a try. i ran the little bar between my hands, and it didn't lather... but i didn't think anything of it because their products are natural-y and handmade. so i just scrubbed the bar into my skin all over. when i went to rinse off, the glitter wasn't rinsing, which was unusual. hrm.

turns out the "glitter bar" isn't soap... it's a bar of glitter that you warm in your hands and spread a teeny bit on your skin when you're going out. since i rubbed it all over me, and it's basically made of a dry oil, i am CAKED in fine glitter dust that i think will be permanently attached. i look like someone's acid trip. hee! i love it so much... if only the shimmer showed up in photos so i could share.

Hah! Which one did you get? I've made that mistake before. They have "massage bars" that are essentially solidified massage oil melts on contact with your skin. I find them of limited use because who wants to be all oily, but they sell better around winter and yeah... the glitter ones are popular before you head out to a club or something. There's one... I think it's called Shimmy Shimmy - I remember trying it in the store and I had residues of glitter on my arm for days after!

If you were using it in the shower the water was probably beading on your skin. :P

We don't actually have one but whenever i'm around one I go a little crazy and stock up.

My boss actually ordered some for me for Xmas and I got the same glittery bar:)

He! I just saw that bar your referring to. I just made my first trip there today. Fun fun! I wish I could have staying longer soaking everything in and smelling it all in, but we were in a hurry.
