i have a lot to be happy about today:

* hooping class last night went really well. enrollment for the workshop had been much lower than expected, so instead of a room crammed with 20 people i had a very manageable 5 people to start. by the time the hour was over, i had adopted another 4 people who were in the other (flamenco) workshop and decided they wanted to do mine instead... as one woman put it, "i started out a miserable flamenco dancer... and ended up a happy hooper!" hee! the best thing is that everyone in the class was able to get almost every move i showed, i was so proud of them! the hour was filled with happy shrieks as the women figured out each thing i taught, it was a great feeling. and even better, every single one of them took one of my flyers offering a student discount on hoops... so hopefully that'll perk up my holiday sales. i came home last night totally giddy. :)

* i weighed in this morning, and my weight is the same as last week. this is a huge victory, considering that i came home from my dallas trip up 4 pounds! i took those couple of days to eat and drink whatever i wanted, and it showed... but i was good again over the weekend, and it looks like all the salt and garbage made its way out. whew. now it's back to eating healthfully and picking up some momentum again!

* today's a vacation day for me. i have a conference call this morning that i couldn't escape, after that it's a day at the mall to get all my xmas shopping done. i usually do this every december -- take a vacation day early on, so i can do all of my shopping and enjoy the holiday spirit without the crowds.

* tomorrow is my 2-year anniversary with jack. :)

WOOHAH on all counts!

Many congratulations on the hooping.

My friend Erika (who stuck with flamenco) tells me that there was only one guy in the whole darn workshop which really must've hurt for flamenco. Sonya made her usual ladies' styling workshop appeal to men on Wednesday ("men, we need your bodies") but I guess fellas just didn't arrive!

i think it's a bad time of year... everyone needs to be out xmas shopping and all that. enrollment from the wimminz was down too, according to sonya they're seeing a drop in class and workshop enrollment because people are cutting expenses back. it's a bummer.

Yes that is a bummer. I've heard people cut back on things like dance lessons last— there's going without a latte, and then there's cutitng out your soul with a spork— but tough times are tough times.

(Why yes, I am going to Vango tonight— no cover and a good salsa crowd! I will buy something, of course)

delightful!

I'm glad you are happy and hearing about your happiness put a little much needed happiness into my heart! If I lived near you I'd TOTALLY take your class! I can't get to the gym hardly at all. I'm still thinking about that hooping thing...
