fuuunnnnnnn concert!
Oct. 26th, 2008 08:53 amwow, was the fab faux concert amazing last night. the entire white album, start to finish, performed with 100% accuracy. every sound effect (even the exact bird whistle used in "blackbird"), all the harmonies... sometimes multiple drummers to get the correct layering of a drum track... even - get this - REVOLUTION 9 was done with technical perfection. how they worked out the score for an 8-minute sound collage is beyond me... but there they were, 13 people following sheet music with more intensity than i've ever seen in a performer. it was insane. i've said it before and i'll say it again -- if you find out they're coming to your area, splurge on the tickets. go. and get the tickets early because they'll sell out (i bought mine the day they went on sale and we were almost at the back of the keswick).
oh, funny side story -- jack and i had dinner before the show at Plush, and as we were leaving a guy asked us "need tickets to the fab faux?"... we turned to say no thanks, and i came face-to-face with preston elliot (of the preston and steve morning show, where i'd delivered hoops a few weeks ago). small world! of course, being a sucky self-promoter, i didn't remind him who i was. just said "nice to see you again" and retreated like a doofus. sigh.
