hmmm.

i need a break. seriously. i've barely worked in the last 2 weeks, between all the colonoscopy stuff and meetings... but i still feel like i need time off for me. and i'm looking at my philly trip tomorrow, and going, "why can't i go sooonerrrrrrr????" the original plan was to work all day tomorrow, then leave boston at 5pm, drive through the evening, and get into philly around 11pm (i have to get up at 6am the next day to work.)

BUT... i'm wondering if i could change things around. maybe i should work a half day, leaving boston at noon and getting to PA around 6pm. instead of going right to mom's, i could spend a few hours in the area i used to live... get sushi for dinner at my favorite asian restaurant in conshohocken... go to the local ikea and get stuff for the apartment (i gave the CD rack to the ex, now there are piles of CDs everywhere)...

OR... i could leave in the morning, and have the entire day to myself. it would cost me a whole vacation day... but heck, the cats will already be boarded, and the whole day will be free and clear. i could leave any time i wanted in the morning, and just have all that time in philly to bum around before heading to mom's. hmmm.

is it worth taking another vacation day? have to think this through.

have you thought of taking one of those cheap flights? That would let you relax a bit and give you some extra time.

actually, it would do just the opposite. first off, i hate to fly (i know, it's an irrational fear, but i own that)... so it would make things a million times worse for me... then, once you factor in the drive to logan, finding parking, waiting for over an hour in the security line, waiting for the flight, the flight itself, then taking a shuttle to my mom's (which is an hour outside the city)... it usually ends up being longer than the 5 and 1/2 hour drive. so i'd rather just take my car. *grin*
