jeez, i'm exhausted! i have to get some work done tonight, but all i want to do is take a cool shower and lay on the couch. so of course i'm procrastinating, reading LJ and watching some TLC show about the annual "running of the brides" at filene's basement in boston. (i'm not sure i can think of a bigger hell than dealing with that mayhem. except maybe if it took place on a 20-hour flight and there were spiders.)

kaiju big battel was an absolute hoot. highlight for me was when pablo plantain, who had been killed in the battel a few weeks ago, came back as a zombie to help his brother pedro win the first match. so. darn. funny. it was an awesome show, and afterwards jack and i had a lovely dinner outside at el vez, and wildflower honey gelato from capogiro on the walk back to the car. bliss.

yesterday jack was such an enormous help, i can't stand it. he installed my new dishwasher, which should have been as simple as sliding out the old one and sliding in the new one. but of course, we're talking about MY house, so we had to deal with crappily built cabinets and an original dishwasher that was basically shoved in a too-small space. so he ended up having to mangle some of my cabinets to get the oldie out, and then rebuild them when the new one was in. grrrrrrrr. (in the process though, he found a child's birthday card that must have slid behind a drawer or something -- it was from 1990! crazy to think that the recipient of that card is at least 20 or 21 years old now!) i owe him so big time... the new dishwasher is preeeeetty and the sears installers would have never done all of the extra work that he did. i heart him.

new dishwasher + rock 'em sock 'em monsters = awesome

I seriously considered it when I belatedly grasped that Harry and the Potters would be involved, but Eleanor already had a playdate planned. Just as well as that turned into a wonderful daylong chill session for all parties concerned and didn't cost $40, but it would have been great to see you guys and the Potters and the wackiness!
