Excellent news! I think the collective "We" knew you'd be the best choice for the job, but how did you react? Were you shocked? You seemed all sorts of I-don't-think-I-did-well-enough-to-get-it and a little down about your interview performance. I wonder if they knew all along that they wanted you, even though they had to go through the process with you and everyone else.

i'm thinking that they wanted me because they'd worked with me before... but there are some amazing super-achiever people in my company who i figured would go for the position as well... and when you're up against people with more experience, you can get bumped down a few notches.

i was pleasantly surprised... i knew i had a shot, but not knowing my competition, it was hard to know whether i REALLY had a shot. :)
