ladies on my friend's list: i'm thinking about going to rock camp this year! who wants to spend a weekend in new york with me this summer and channel their inner rock star? all the info is here, it looks like a total blast. yes, it's $500, but the proceeds go to the willie mae rock camp for girls, which is a great program.

the thing i like best is that they don't care if you have any musical experience... they'll take anyone from "i have a band and am awesome" to "i hear there's an instrument called a 'drum', can i learn it ?"

there are 2 weekend sessions (july and august), and i'm open for either one. if you have a preference and want to share a hotel room, let me know. i'm going to send in my application in the next few days, because it's going to fill up quick...

in totally unrelated anything, am i missing something with the whole white castle "sliders" burger thing? i bought some at the supermarket last night, and i got a blecch tummy as soon as i ate them. are they called "sliders" because they slide right out of you?

Supermarket White Castle is blasphemy. You need to have the real thing. Yeah, they're called Sliders because of the common legend that they slide right out. But lemme tell ya, I've NEVER gotten sick from real White Castle, and certainly I've eaten my share of it.

The Rock Camp sounds VERY cool. Y'know, when you're here in New York and have some extra time (whether it's during the Rock Camp or any other visit), let me know. We should get together and have drinkies or something!

drinkies would be awesome! it's been way too long since i've been to NY, so i'm due for a visit... if i do rock camp, i'll probably add on a couple of days, and i'll definitely let you know.

I'll second the 'real WC is so much better' thoughts. xtingu and I had some on the last tour with IJG and I swear I could have kept eating when the bag was empty they were so tasty. And yes - it was a bag much like you give a horse a FEED BAG.

My mom always told me sliders were named for that fact. Yet she bought them. They did tear up my intestines. I never liked them from the grocery store or from the restaurant. To me they taste like grease on a bun. Gross. I haven't tried them since my youth. Have they improved the recipe?
