swingchickie* going back to work after a 3-day weekend, which came after a week-long business trip, sucks. it was great to see everyone yesterday, but i had to jump into "i'm overdue on a project because i've been traveling" mode. i finished up my first draft of it last night around 9pm, which was a huge relief. it's tough getting back into the right sleep patterns -- jack and i slept in all 3 weekend days, which i never do, so now my body is all "baroo?" when the alarm goes off at 6am. meh.
* i got another hoop order this weekend, for one of my new designs: the Solstice. If I do say so myself, that color combination is GORGEOUS when you see a whole hoop decorated in it... I was so psyched to ship it, because I know the gal's going to get it and go "holy moly, that's so cool". hee! i had a welcome lull in orders for a couple of weeks after Xmas, but it looks like people are checking out my site again, which is great. :)
* i am officially ready for spring, thankyouverymuch. i want longer days, i want warm weather that doesn't trap me inside, i want BBQs on my deck. i want the top down on my car every day. i want to hoop in the park. *praying for april to come quick*
* there's a "salsa 1" class right after my west coast class on thursday nights... considering i have several months worth of classes banked right now at the studio, i'm going to see if i can take them back to back. it's such a haul to get out there (an hour each way), i want to maximize my time there... but i wonder if they'll be total salsa nazis, like they were when i first signed up, and not let me jump in halfway through the session. i could probably be in a salsa 2 class, so maybe if i beg the teacher to let me just try tomorrow, she'll see i can keep up and let me stay...

Date: 2008-01-23 02:45 pm (UTC)I know that we're a bit out of your way, but you should bring some hoops down and check out the parks (yes - multiple!) Across the street from us in Arden. Quiet in terms of automobile traffic and stunningly beautiful even now in the off season.
The Jerminator and I took JD there the other day and he gave a solid "2 paws up - way up!"
