swingchickie | merry day after xmas!

what a wonderful holiday this year. i feel really relaxed, despite the work deadlines looming over my head (which means i'm REALLY relaxed). it was a really nice long weekend, with my family (xmas eve) and jack's family (yesterday) and lots of quality time with just the 2 of us the rest of the time.

one thing i did learn: i've been bowling wrong for my entire life. jack and i went bowling on saturday night, and even a 6-pound ball was tough for me to use... i couldn't understand how he was able to chuck a heavy 11-pound ball as fast as he was. then at the beginning of our 3rd game, i was like, "hey, can you show me how you're holding the ball?" only to discover that putting your pointer and middle fingers in the top 2 holes (as i'd been doing) was not right at all. WOW, was a heavy ball easier to hold once you do it right! once i adjusted: strike. strike. spare. jack was like, "dammit! i'm never correcting you again!"

oh -- and jack is 100% now. still no idea what the deal was to land him in the hospital, but we're certainly glad he's feeling good. of course, he wishes he were back there: "they paid attention to me! they asked me constantly if they could get me anything! i got a back massage!" (do they usually give you back massages in the hospital? or was it just that the nurses thought he was hot?)

love that i have a day off today... i have the luxury of spending an entire day cleaning my office (it will take at least a day to do it). i have shelves for the storage closet, lots of pretty yellow file folders for my paperwork... oh, this will feel SO good when it's done!
