maybe god does exist after all.
Dec. 16th, 2007 03:17 pmyesterday, i met the couple who bought the house across the street. i met the gal first -- super-sweet, young, very friendly. she was moving in a few loose things while her husband drove their big moving truck over. about an hour later, the truck arrived, and i could see they were having trouble backing it into the driveway. after a few tries, one of the guys came up and rang my bell. turns out he was the husband, also super-nice, and i told them to use my driveway to help get the truck in line.
about 10 minutes later, both of them rang my bell again. they looked embarrassed. "we drove on your grass a little bit as we were lining the truck up, we're so sorry!" he said. "but if the grass doesn't grow back, don't worry, i can fix it. i'm a landscaper."
*insert flashes of all the lawn work i've been looking to contract out for the spring: re-grading the whole yard, re-seeding, hauling mulch from my removed trees, planting new shrubs out front...*
all i could say was, "whoa, am i glad you're my new neighbor. we'll have to talk."
