thank god for monday.

i never thought i'd say that... but this weekend was a bust, so going to the office HAS to be better.

i barely left the house for 4 days. darn cold meant i was trapped inside the whole time, and my couch has a nice deep divot from where my butt's been parked for a lot of it. i did manage to accomplish some stuff, too -- i decorated for xmas, made a couple of hoops for orders that came in, put together a "jewlery armoire" (yes, i have so much crappy jewelry i need a piece of furniture to hold it), and switched over my winter clothes. the rest of the time i watched about 20 episodes of CSI and 2 movies, and tried to keep from eating the entire contents of my fridge.

i also started looking up vacation packages online. i am so due for a vacation, i can't stand it. and this is where it starts to suck, because this year the cruise was free and the plam springs trip put me and jack into debt, so we are in NO shape to plan a vacation anytime soon... at least a vacation done in the way we want to do it. i just read sandwichgirl's posts about being in hawaii, and i'm thiiiis close to selling all of my belongings on ebay and moving there. yeah, i'm thinking that in the spring, my bonus money needs to go to a vacation instead of remodeling my kitchen... you can't put a price tag on maintaining your sanity.

i had a dream last night that i got another tattoo. it's been in my mind on and off, because jack is mr. spur-of-the-moment tattoo guy, and it takes me so long to figure out what's right for me (it took 10 years to decide on the one that i have). but i was listening the other day to one of my favorite singers, josh clayton-felt, and one of his lyrics hit me over the head like a sledgehammer: "why would anyone ever want to bring you down / you look so beautiful whenever you are way up high". that was the tattoo in my dream last night. perhaps i need to mull it over for a year or two, and have a small text tattoo as my next addition?

and, hey -- i might be able to take a vacation day this week (i have 2 weeks left to use, and the end of the year is going to be crazy so i'm taking them randomly where i can)... if you had a random weekday off to spend by yourself, what would you do? (and no, spending the day on the couch watching CSI isn't allowed, i do that all the time.)

...wonka-vision my way to a warm place, eat well, rest, read. I'd also hire professionals for the day to run my business, contractors to work on my house and health professionals for me: massage therapists, chiropractors, personal chef, maybe a personal trainer (but maybe not), manicurist, etc.

This, of course, if I can't spend the day on the couch watching TV. Of course. ;)
