because rapidweaver is kicking my ass. grrrrrrr.

i know i'm using an old version of it, but i must be missing something -- from what it looks like, i have to learn freaking HTML in order to make my site look the way i want. seriously, all i want to do is put my logo in my header, and put some photos here and there where *i* want them to be (not where a crappy template says they should go)... why do i need to learn to program in order to do that?

seriously, i am a freaking WHIZ at powerpoint... if there was some way to build each page in powerpoint (so i could drag things around and make it look EXACTLY how i want), and then publish it all from there, i'd be golden. i don't know why it has to be so freaking hard to do something like that.

*heavy sigh*.

ETA: um, wow. so, it looks like you CAN use powerpoint to build web pages. powerpoint itself was no help, but i found an online tutorial that makes it look like it's not super-hard. i played around with it for a bit and managed to create a pretty spiffy new home page... now i just have to learn how to upload it so it replaces the current one. hrm.

That's the thing about templatized software -- it'll never be EXACTLY what you want.

Unless you've invested a lot of time and energy on what you have in RapidWeaver, maybe try iWeb?

If you want - set it up as close to how you want it to look, save the file, and email me a copy. I can't promise miracles, but I'll take a look at it. :)

For what it's worth, HTML isn't programming; and I point that out not to be a pedantic jerk, but because it is a whole lot easier than programming. If you ever used WordPerfect or a similar old-school word processor in "reveal codes" mode, HTML and CSS are roughly equivalent. So it's not that bad.

I'm a little surprised that PowerPoint is letting you do what you want... make sure you don't wind up with something that only "really" works in IE. Easy enough to make sure because you have a Mac at home to test it with.
