cam etiquette?

okay, so this webcam thing is just too much fun. it's so neat to be able to see a friend while you're chatting with them! but of course, because i'm neurotic, i'm wondering now if there are etiquette things that i'm supposed to know about. any thoughts?

in the meantime, there are a few things i learned from cam-chatting with a friend last night...

1. if you're a figdeter, it looks spastic because of the gaps in transmission.
2. if you scratch your face anywhere near your nose, it looks like a pick.
3. drinking anything from a bottle screws up your face so you look like a troll.
4. a messy room behind you can be seen. so can your "30-second bunnies theatre" t-shirt.

As in dancing, it's all about timing. Learn your framerate - there's a lot of living to do between those herky-jerky images. Those split seconds add up, and they can be employed for a vast range of activities while you cam with a friend. Drinking. Flossing. Doing your 1040 long form.

With practice, you will learn to reposition your face every second and a half and will transform yourself from spastic elf to graceful swan.
