birthday-ness

so, my birthday's in a few weeks. it's odd, normally i'm like "whee! it's my birthday!!!!" and want to throw a major party, this year i'm just kind of "eh". not that i don't want to celebrate it or anything, i'm just not super into it. maybe that will change in the next week or so. i'm having dinner with my family that weekend, and the night of my birthday jack wants to do something (he won't tell me what he's planning, hehe), so that'll be fun. :)

and, oh -- the weekend after (friday november 2), anyone who's free is welcome to come out to a belated b-day dinner... i posted the info to a couple of my friend-y e-mail lists, but forgot to put the word out to my LJ peeps. so if you're in the philly area (or willing to drive, hee!), and want to hang with cool peeps for an evening, e-mail me and i'll tell you the where and when.

in other news, OH MY GOD IS IT SPRING YET???? i can't wake up when it's dark out! *weep* a co-worker of mine who just moved here from texas was like, "wow, it gets dark early here... i'll bet this winter, it's going to be dark soon after we get home from work." after i picked my jaw up off the floor, i replied, "dude, it's going to be pitch black by 4:30. get used to only seeing sunlight on the weekends."

The only way I survive the winters is with a BioBrite Sunrise Clock. It was the best $99.00 I have ever spent. Also helps me fall asleep too, with its handy sundown feature, too. Plus, it has a security mode which turns the light on and off at random intervals to make it look like you're home.

In other news, by the miracle of the universe, it looks like I'll be home for 11/2. Woot!
