postsecret is down this morning! how am i supposed to get through my sunday without it???? *tearing hair out*

went to see the musical version of "debbie does dallas" last night, as part of the philly fringe festival. it was AWESOME. i'd heard of it years ago when it debuted off-broadway, so i was glad i had the chance to catch it... i only wish it was still running, so i could drag the other philly peeps along. the whole thing was a blast -- it was performed in the upstairs nightclub part of Sisters, a lesbian bar in the city... and they had discounted Sex on the Beach drinks (har, har) and a drinking game where you had to sip everytime someone in the cast said "dallas".

the cast was a riot, all young (in college or just graduated) and really talented. the whole show was very campy, basically there are rousing musical numbers where the sex scenes are supposed to be. and also lots of silly innuendo while the cheerleaders are helping each other stretch, and the meathead football players are tackling each other in practice. and there were lots of dance numbers with bananas and candles and stuff, and a really funny recurring gag where characters would be simulating an "act" on another actor, and then would magically pull a mic out of that person's pants to sing their next song with. really, really fun.

had a GREAT hoop practice this morning. i'm learning that the way for me to keep from getting bored in 5 minutes (because i still haven't gotten over the whole "there's no-one here to dance with and get energy from" thing) is to spend 2-3 songs dancing and playing around, and then the rest of the time drilling one or two moves. today was, simply, waist hooping. my goals were to: 1. keep the hoop from falling the whole time, which meant concentrating on the energy i was putting into the hoop, 2. expore what i could do with my upper body with the hoop on my waist, and 3. see how much i could move around (walking, grapevines, standing on one foot) without dropping the darn thing. it went really well, i dropped it 3 times in 45 minutes (a major record for me), and had a lot of fun exploring what i could do while immersed in such a simple move.

i'm looking forward to jack getting home tonight. darnit, i miss him. *pout*

Hey, I just found this site, Indiepublic for people who make handmade items, or support other who do. I was looking through their groups and found this:

http://www.indiepublic.com/group/hoopdancers

You could set up a homepage there for yourself as a way to advertise your internet hoop store.
