"i'm on my lunch break and procrastinating" post

i made two more prototype hoops last night, that came out really really well -- Psychedelic is a blacklight hoop with strips of pink/green/yellow neon, as wells as black stripes. this one's going to dhpdesign, but i just might have to make one for myself. you know, for research and all. the other one, "Hoops of Fire", turned out lovely but I'm going to tweak it a bit -- the current version is stripes of gold glitter and orange vinyl, I think my next version will be stripes of gold glitter and red glitter with the orange vinyl in between. more fire-y and all.

making hoops is HARD. okay, i'll take that back -- making hoops is okay, making them WELL is hard. i've checked out a lot of hoop sites online, and i can see the mistakes right in their photos... for mine, i don't even want you to be able to see mistakes close-up. it took me 90 minutes last night just to decorate adam's hoop. so i think my hourly rate (as it relates to any profits) is going to stink... but at least i'll know i can be proud of what i'm sending out.

website still isn't up yet. once i get my logo from adam and have photos of all the hoops, i'll be ready to go. :)

this afternoon, i'm leaving work a bit early... heading to lowe's to check out paint and flooring for the workshop. i'm thinking i'll do a black and white checkered floor, with white walls and black shelves with hot pink accents. and of course, there will be a riot of color once the racks are up and i start hanging all the hoops i stock!

How does one deliver a hoop anyway? Seems like an object designed almost perfectly to be a pain in the ass to ship!

repeated use issue

Discovered something interesting last night.
I was wearing a cotton tank top and shorts while I was hooping. My shorts kept sliding down and my shirt kept riding up. As a result, and also because of the humidity, the hoop kept sticking to my skin.
1)Ow.
2)Hoop would not easily go back up over the bulge that is the rolled edge of my shirt. at least I couldn't just knock it back up with my hip.

Result: Hoop gets dropped with more frequency.

Don't know how this will affect the texture of what you choose for the hoops.

will you be wearing a real white wedding dress and all? because with the fabric covering your skin around your waist, it won't be an issue. and i can make sure i don't use grip tape, so it doesn't grab.
