weekend recap

swingchickiegood, good weekend about to lead into a (potentially) wacky week. friday night was dinner out with jack, and then the late seating for jonathan coulton with paul & storm at milkboy. god, i love those guys. seriously, if you are not on their e-mail lists, do it, and then go and see them the next time they're in your city. because they are hysterically funny and talented and awesome. philly peeps, i will buy you a ticket if i have to the next time they're in town.
sunday was chore-y stuff, and then date night: a lovely grilled dinner on jack's patio and then a movie on TV. i'm discovering that, while i love going out on the town together, just vegging out and grilling with the tiki torches lit and having a glass of wine is a pretty damn awesome date too.
today i officially went broke -- a few sale items at ann taylor to managerial-ize my wardrobe, plus paying for the hotel rooms for our upcoming vacation, PLUS the sump pump installation that's happening this week, means jenn has spent most of her august paycheck before the month's even started. i am certainly up for cheapo social plans this month, if anyone has ideas.
and oh -- "rescue dawn" = great movie. many edge-of-your-seat moments, and steve zahn in an absolutely heartbreaking role. he alone would be worth the $10.
