when i am completely stressed out, all a makeup-counter girl has to do is make me look reasonably human again, and i will fork over $200 for everything she slapped on my face. yes, i went to the mall yesterday to buy a new foundation (the one i'd picked up at sephora last month was making me look rather orange), and decided to check out the Prescriptives line because they're supposed to be great at matching makeup to your skin tone. as i sat down in the chair, i caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and was shocked -- i looked horrible. truly awful, just worn-out and exhausted. dark circles under my eyes, zits, flaming red rosacea on my cheeks and chin, wrinkles popping out everywhere. once she matched some foundation to my skin tone, and picked eyeshadows and lipstick in the right color family for me, she brought me back to looking like a healthy 36-year-old (instead of the unhealthy 46-year-old i saw in the mirror). so yes, i gave her some of my hard-earned cash. gladly.

jack was just as worn-out yesterday, his week hasn't been a joy either. last night was the first night we'd hung out since our meet-the-parents weekend -- we grabbed a quick bite at the pizza place down the street, plonked down on his couch to listen to weird al DJ on WXPN (damn that man has good taste in music! he played "lucas with the lid off"!), and promptly passed out. getting a good night's sleep, and seeing jack, did a world of good... i have energy today, and am totally psyched to do some housework and visit with [livejournal.com profile] swingdoc and go to [livejournal.com profile] jeremym's big book release party tonight.

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!
