what do you do on a random weekday?

seriously... if you come home from work and have nothing to do, how do you fill your evening?

last night i felt incredibly guilty, because i ignored the pile of laundry and other household chores that had to be done, (as well as the GORGEOUS weather outside) and just screwed around on the computer. what site did i spend most of my time on? singshot, a karaoke site that lets you record your performances. (damn you, bohemianrapsody... first you get me into hooping, now this.) it's a hoot. there are contests you can enter, too... some people are waaaaay too into it though, and contact other site users to drive traffic to their songs to get more votes. i even received an e-mail from one girl, announcing that she had a new song up. eek... i just don't have the energy to campaign for karaoke votes. *chuckle*

in other fun news, my new hoop came today! earlier this week i ordered the viva las vegas hoop, a gorgeous metallic gold and black spiral design... i had read that the travel hoops (the type i own) aren't good for regular and/or hard hooping (read: beginner like me beating it up), so i splurged and got a regular one. i can definitely see the difference -- the new one is firmer (the travel one warps a bit as i hoop hard), and the grip tape is better... plus it's a couple of inches smaller. i think the stiffer tubing will work out better for me as i'm learning. i tried it for a minute this afternoon and it feels good... i'll play around with it more tomorrow morning to see.

LOL! Do you have a mike? I bought one at Best Buy and have spent way too many hours recording songs over and over. That's the pure advantage over live Karaoke- do overs! It ends being a huge time suckage but all that singing surely improves one's voice little by little. Side note: I can't get in the mood unless I several glasses of wine-just like real Karaoke.
There definately seems to be a Singshot hierarchy, which is annoying. I've heard awful singers with feedback such as "you nailed it!" "Great voice!" I'm assuming they're friends and family!) And yes, the spam emails like myspace..complimenting you just to get you to vote for their stupid song is utterly annoying. But the site does have it's charm.

i have a cheapie crap mike from target (if you click on the singshot link, you'll hear one of my songs and how bad the quality is).

i know what you're saying about people's ratings... i'll click on the link for someone with 5 billion points, and think, oh my god they SUCK. then again, i hear myself and think the same thing. *chuckle*

You're so clear! My voice is rather undistintive and mediocore but I know there's always going to be worse (and better)
