weepy wake-up call
Apr. 15th, 2007 07:32 amfell asleep on the sofa last night... when i woke up this morning, there was a show on PBS that i started hearing as i came to. i watched the tail end of it, a sesame street special created to help military families explain to their little ones why mommy or daddy has to go away for a long time. i sat there and watched elmo and his dad sing to each other about how they want to make each other proud while daddy's deployed... it was so darn moving, i started to get tears in my eyes. then i looked over at angus, who was awake and looking at me with his big eyes, and i broke down and had a big boo-hoo. god, i'm such a sap.
if you want to have a nice big lump in your throat first thing in the morning, like me, then you can go here: http://www.sesameworkshop.org/tlc/ and click on the link that says "parent/child video". the song is 18 minutes in if you want to fast-forward to it.
