happy 4th of july weekend!!!!

swingchickiewow, i have had such an amazing time this weekend! one of the best weekends i've had in a long, long time. where do i start...
* friday night: the b.f. and i broke up. okay, that didn't make the weekend great, it was very sad. but that weight has been lifted off of us, and i feel a lightness in this apartment that hasn't been there in almost a year.
* saturday day: went to WW and was down a pound. (yay!) went to the mall, and found a bunch of stuff that fit really well... but i controlled myself and just picked up a few things (mostly from victoria's secret... there's nothing to help you through a breakup like new thongs, holla!)
* saturday night: went dancing. got some really nice compliments on my dancing, which always floors me because i am so new and i feel like i don't know what i'm doing. flirty boy was there too, which is always fun. he gave me a knee-buckling kiss on my neck as a greeting, and we had some great dances. what i wouldn't give to have one long, uncontrolled, "rebound night" with that man. good lord.
* sunday: went to a fantastic party to celebrate the 4th! a girlfriend of mine lives in beacon hill, just blocks from the fireworks... everyone in her building invited friends over, and we had a party on the roofdeck. grills were going, a bunch of people brought instruments and were jamming, and we had like 75 people up there. plus the view was stunning -- from 6 stories up, you could look out towards the water, and see all these other people having parties on their buildings' roofdecks as well. it was like another world up there. then the fireworks started... and i looked around, with the colors exploding in the air, a cool summer breeze, lots of friends, a good glass of wine, and a new single life ahead of me... and i realized it was just a perfect moment for me.
today is chores and some work, but i don't care. i'm giddy from the rest of the weekend. *grin*

Date: 2004-07-05 08:28 am (UTC)he's good-looking, but not in a conventional way. he's maybe 5'9", solid build, beautiful thick, dark hair that falls in unruly waves almost down to his collar. but the thing about him is his eyes... he's perfected the art of eye contact, so that when you're dancing with him, he looks at you in this playful, sexy way that makes you feel like you're the only woman in the room. he's a lot of fun. *grin*
