decisions, decisions.

swingchickie*sigh* so we got our renewal letter from our apartment building. we have to let them know within 2 weeks if we are planning on renewing our lease. which begs the question: should the b.f. stay here until i get promoted and move, or should he just move out now? pert of me would really like the place to myself, for the emotional space (and then i wouldnt have his laundry, change, and crumpled receipts all over the floor)... but of course the other half of me likes the security of having him here, and him paying almost half of our $1400 rent is a big help. *sigh*.
i think i did an unkind thing last night... i went to a wine and cheese party at a girlfriend's house... she's a co-worker of mine, and when i arrived she mentioned that another co-worker i don't know (a woman who works in another state) was going to be there as well. this woman happened to be in town because she had 2 tickets to see gato barbieri (who i LOVE) at a local jazz club... and my girlfriend was supposed to go with her, but couldn't... would i want the other ticket? i was totally psyched, and figured this unknown woman must be cool if she's friends with my friend, so i said sure. when the woman got to the party, my friend told her i'd go to the show, and she said great.
but, over the next couple of hours, as i got to know this woman, i realized that even backstage passes to the show wouldn't make me want to spend an evening with her. she was unbearably dull, and had a rather nasty side to her. she said a few things to my friend that i just didn't like, and i found myself coming to my friend's rescue. so a little while into the party, i told her i was developing an awful headache from the wine and that i'd better just go home and lie down instead. i did go home and spend the evening in, and went to bed early... but i'm not sure how bad i should feel about not going to the show.
