i "slept in" until 6:30 this morning. woo. i needed to try getting more sleep, because 7 or 8 hours isn't cutting it. all i've done in the last week or two is get up early, work for 13-15 hours, come home and go to bed, and it's really starting to affect me. yesterday 3 people at work stopped me and said, "whoa, you look exhausted". so last night i went to bed super-early to try getting even more rest. not sure it did much, i think i just need to ride it out another week or so until the massive workload subsides... and then sleep for a month.

nothing new to report. i'm scanning LJ every night before i hit the sack, but haven't had the energy to really reply to any posts. so just know i'm thinking of y'all and i'll be back to commenting like crazy in a couple of weeks.

Ouch! Poor [livejournal.com profile] swingchickie! Seven or eight hours oughta do ya. You're exhausted from a lack of sanity time.

There's a point to all this extreme-sports labor, right? It might help if I understood better what the career rewards for such punishment are. There must be, you're a smart lass. But I just see you bleedin'.

well, the career reward comes in the form of what my boss mentioned to me this morning... she's submitting me to get promoted a grade level, which usually takes 2-3+ years to get (i've only been here a year, so that's huge). so i'll get a raise, an "officle" (big cubicle that looks like an office), a better title, and i'll get to do some manage-ing.

Sounds like they are rewarding you well, then. And doing some manage-ing will hopefully give you the power to delegate some of the madness sanely.

Just in case this isn't clear, I absolutely admire your dedication to your work and your general hardcoreitude.
