i can't believe it took me so long to start going there, and now next week is the last week for the season. *weep* the lesson was good, we learned a variation of something i know from swing dancing that's really fun. got grabbed after the lesson by one of the guys to practice the combo... he was cute-ish, but as soon as we were done he asked me to be his "practice partner", and in the NEXT sentence asked me if i have any kids and if i like kids, because he has an 8-year-old son and he's in his 40s and yadda yadda yadda... whoa, EAGER, dude. but like the night before, i certainly thought the attention was flattering.

his asking me to be his practice partner did get me thinking on the way home... maybe i *should* look into finding someone to practice and/or compete with. if i jump into some lessons, i could do a beginner-level competition within a year or so (do they do jack and jills in salsa?). hrm. for now, i need to focus on losing some more weight so i move better, and dealing with my practically dislocated shoulder from when this little old man with an iron grip whipped me at light speed into a double-hand underarm turn thing in the wrong direction. OUCH.

So are you going to be his practice partner? That doesn't mean you have to be anything else! Maybe he was telling you about his son because he might be around sometimes while you were practicing? I mean, I'm sure he found you attractive, but... maybe he didn't mean to come on so strong. Then again, this is coming from someone who was apparently (according to friends) completely clueless when being hit on in my single days.

i don't really think i'm going to practice with him... this probably sounds awful, but he is at a BEGINNER-beginner level (still not in rhythm with the music at all)... our "practices" would basically be me teaching him for free. i wouldn't mind finding someone on a slightly more advanced level to practice with though.
