swingchickie | things and stuff on a rainy saturday

i think i need to convert the house into a houseboat. this rain is amazing! of course there are a bunch of downed branches in my yard, and there is a HUGE one, way up high, that is hanging by a thread and will probably plummet to earth in the next few hours. i'm hoping the weather calms down for the BBQ tomorrow... according to the news it'll be drier than today, if not then all that ground beef is going to turn from burgers into a big fat meatloaf so we can party indoors.

been running like crazy since yesterday afternoon (in a good way). i came home mid-afternoon and finally started tackling the rest of my unpacking and cleaning for tomorrow... then i took a quick shower and headed out in the rain for another crack at swing dancing in new jersey. the dance was better this time, between the fact that there were a few decent dancers there and people remembered me from the lesson a couple of weeks ago. after the lesson i got a good solid hour of dancing in before i headed home... a quick supermarket trip at midnight to get the rest of the BBQ stuff (the shelves were bare -- i literally took the last 8 pounds of ground beef), and i was done for the night.

L2 should be here within the hour. poor thing, she headed down here around 5:30am and the rain has held her up all along the way. she's such a good friend for coming all the way from boston... tonight is all about her, whatever she wants to do socially we'll do. (yes

oh! and i'm not going to jinx it now, but next friday i have something on tap that could, no lie, be one of the highlights of my entire life. really. i'm not kidding. we shall see! whee!
