wow, i'm glad this week is almost over. i love having in-class weeks, but they really exhaust me. you always have to be "on", and so in tune to the verbal and non-verbal cues of your trainees... all i've wanted to do is sleep when i get home every night. add to that all the other stuff i've been dealing with, and it's been brutal. it is worth it, though -- yesterday, the class i was covering (their regular trainer went out on maternity), a class full of tenured sales reps who were here to learn new material, gave me a huge compliment: they said the review i had done with them to help prep them for their exam that night was the best review they've ever participated in... that they really knew the information, it wasn't like they'd just studied to get through the exam. that was a nice little boost in my day.

i took care of myself last night and went to get a mani and pedi in the mall. (purple, if you must know.) i just needed to be away from my falling-down house and my laptop full of work for an hour or so. this weekend should be good as well, although i'm so booked solid it might backfire on me and exhaust me even more. we shall see. part of me wants to just hole up at home with a stack of movies and angus snuggling next to me for the whole weekend... but being with my different groups of friends ain't a bad thing either.

Can these sales reps tell your boss how awesome you are so he will give you a big raise? :-)

Seriously, do you keep a "me" folder? Though it may seem egotistical, we learned to keep one from the business classes when I went to grad school. It certainly contained a lot of supporting evidence to help me get promotions and to remind bosses how I was doing at review time!

i keep a runnig Word document every year, and every time i get an award or do a project i type it in. i got screwed a number of years ago in my annual review, because i hadn't documented everything i'd done that year and i had a boss who didn't really like me much... so i learned my lesson.

the reps do evaluations at the end of training, and one of the things they respond to is how effective their trainers were. so hopefully they'll put in a good word. :)
