swingchickiein my black devil car...
yes, i've decided that the best way to view boston is on a summer night, driving over the mass ave bridge with the top down on the mustang. 100% heaven.
boston, was fun, but WHOA is my head spinning from how short a trip it was! highlights:
* letting myself loose on newbury street for 2 hours with a visa gift card burning a hole in my wallet. oh, the carnage! walked away with J's housewarming gift, a hawt dress that's cut down to there for the fall, and a logo t-shirt at johnny cupcakes, which i thought was a bakery at first and then absolutely squealed at how cute the store was (cupcake-and-crossbones t-shirts laid out on cookie trays and in fridge cases! whee!)
* drinks at the b-side with K. it had been almost a year since i'd been there, and it felt sooo good to be back sitting on one of their red vinyl barstools! the guys behind the bar haven't changed a bit, they still make perfect drinks and are nice as hell. and who walked in the door but a gal who used to work on my sales team YEARS ago, with her brother... so they sat with us and she, K and i talked about worky stuff and we had a blast.
* lunch with J2 saturday morning at anna's, which he insisted on paying for because he's "terrified" at how big my mortgage and car payments are. hee. afterwards, we stopped at brooks so i could get a gift bag for J's housewarming present, and we ended up frolicking through the aisles, picking out more silly stuff to put in the bag -- a can of spam, 2 bags of gummi savers, and a care bears colorform set from J2.
* the housewarming BBQ was great, it was good to reconnect with everyone and see J's awesome condo. but all too soon, it was time to hit the road again and drive all the way back to philly. it was a beautiful night, and the 6 hours in the car + warm summer air + good music on the CD player = lots of time for thinkin' and singin' and just generally loving life.
ooh, and the red elvises tonight at musikfest -- i'll be loving life times ten! whee!
