He uses "babe", talks and writes with things like "b,cus", "ur". What kind of a "business man" is he? And does that kind of talk actually work?? *eyeroll*

I speak and write well [with the occasional, basic 'net-speak acronym] and am pretty much ignored. What are we doing wrong? LOL

maybe we need to switch tactics! according to match.com, my profile has been viewed 159 TIMES, and i've received a whopping 10 e-mails out of that. i'm not real psyched about that ratio. maybe i need to start spelling creatively and see if my luck changes?...

And by "business man" he means that he works for a business...as a cashier at a gas station to be specific.

yeah, his business sure doesn't have anything to do with writing (i hope)...

i swear, one of these days i'm going to set up a date with one of these guys, just to see what the deal is. *chuckle*

ummm, ok dude!

I keep seeing commercials for eharmony.com. Is that one any good?

eharmony, in one word, sucks.

costs a fortune... they match you, instead of letting you look at profiles on your own... you have to go through all of these senseless "communication steps" before you can even e-mail the person... plus they won't match same-sex couples (not that i'm looking for a gal, but that pisses me off).

so, bah.

As a side note, my brother-in-law used to date one of the employees of "It's Just Lunch" when he was living in Austin. He told us how much it cost for 3 lunches at which point Jason choked on his own spit and asked "Does that include lunch?!" The answer was "no". (This is much funnier if you know how thrifty his whole family is).

So yeah, that is an expensive service too, and not even sure they have a Philly branch.

And that was no help to you, sorry!

Oh, but I have a single brother! Too bad he lives in Northern Illinois. :-(

hehe yeah, they have a philly branch too. never really bothered checking into them... it's one of those things where sure, i'd like to date someone, but i'm not at the point where i want to shell out a huge chunk of cash just to get introduced. i don't have a ticking biological clock or anything, so the desperation isn't there yet. :) plus these online sites are so darn entertaining... *chuckle*
