swingchickie | back in the swing again!

went to a lindy night last night, my first lindy dance since xmas. i'd been meaning to check out the dance at tokio for a while, but it was hard for me to drag my butt out on a thursday, all the way into center city, to stat dancing at 9pm. but i've been such a lazy slug lately, it was time to get off my duff and go. i'm so glad i did... it was a great time, lots of good dancers and really nice people.

the freakiest thing -- i ran into one of my college friends there! this was the guy whose yahoo profile i'd discovered when i first moved back here, but had never heard back from him (his profile was inactive) and i had no other way to get in touch with him. it was great to catch up with him, he's doing really well... and the coolest thing? sometime after college he discovered he could paint! and not just "paint"... like, he can PAINT. holy crap. he gave me the address of his website... and literally, i got tears in my eyes when i took a look. he is AMAZING. now i just need to save all of my money so i can get one of his paintings for the new house... there are a bunch that i would love to have hanging in my living room! i'm so proud!

tonight's dancing again, a west coast swing night in NJ. SO psyched for this one, i've heard there are some great dancers there! woo!
