took the day off today... i need a long weekend. it seems like i only get my stuff done (errands, etc.) when i have a bunch of time stretched out in front of me... so hopefully today will give me the mental kick in the pants to do some really necessary stuff (especially register my car in PA... MA is breathing down my neck for car taxes 'cause i'm still registered there. eek.)

going house hunting this afternoon for a few hours. it's not promising. i got a voicemail from my mortgage broker this morning, basically saying "if you borrow out your entire 401K to use as a down payment on a place, then we can get your mortage down to $2000." (and this is a mortgage that is only fixed for 3 years. *choke*) add in crazy closing costs, and the fact that i'd have to pay $2300 to break my lease (found that out this morning too), and it looks like i won't be buying a place until the fall so that i have time to save more money and not lose several thousand dollars on this stupid apartment. grrrr.

in happier news, last night was the second date with C. we went to the tin angel (love it there! why have i not gone there before?) to see mark erelli play, and he was fabulous. C thought so as well, i think i've created another convert. *grin* afterwards we met up with [livejournal.com profile] boutell at this south philly bar called the dive (which lives up to its name)... it was their last karaoke night*, and the singers were out in full force. i was really impressed, C immediately put in a slip to sing (i've never dated a guy who liked karaoke before), and he was GOOD! wow! the real entertainment, however, was the mind-blowingly drunk guy who somehow ended up sitting at our table... he had this uncanny ability to knock over any beer within a 20 foot radius. i counted 5 accidents, including one nasty spill where he shattered the beer glass... he also thought that a fun way of saying goodbye was to try to pour a can of pabst blue ribbon over people's heads. *sigh*. ah, to be 21 again.

i would also like to say... the philly smoking ban cannot get here soon enough. my eyes and lungs were on FIRE by the time we left. ugh.

*why are they getting rid of karaoke, you might ask? guess why... because they are starting up a weekly "rock, paper, scissors" tournament. i kid you not.

So glad you two were there! Yeah, that guy was horrible. Comic. But horrible. As was my excessive drinking. Hey, if I didn't finish them, he'd fucking pour them on me, right?

But I still had a wonderful time. Wound up slipping my email address to Virginia. The sinners are much more fun...
