so, like, this homeowner thing is actually going to happen. i met with my realtor this afternoon, and learned a lot, so i'm not so completly freaked out about the whole concept of buying a place. the good news is, my credit score is better than it was a couple of years ago (took a lot of work)... so she says i'll get a decent mortgage with no problem. and, we did a preliminary search for listings in the area, and there are about 2 dozen places that are in my price range and don't completely suck. *grin* so this week we'll start checking some of them out, so i can get a feel for the market.
of all things though, just this week my DREAM HOUSE went on the market. seriously, this house has been my dream house ever since college. every time i drive by it, i gaze at it longingly and wonder what it's like inside, and i get all fantasize-y about it. this week, a "for sale" sign went up in front of it. *weep* what crappy timing, that when i start looking to buy a place, my dream house goes up for sale for like 3x what i can afford. life is so cruel. if anyone has an extra $600K sitting around that you could lend me, let me know... i'll throw a big karaoke party in your honor...
