i seriously don't know how people can go to work when they're sick. when i get a severe cold like this one, i can't function at all, let alone be the least bit lucid in the office. last night i passed out on the couch while jack listened to the flyers game... when i woke up to go to bed, jack had put tissues and a glass of water on the nightstand for me, and put Bun-Bun (the bunny stuffed animal he gave me for easter) in bed for me to snuggle. i could have cried, that man is a saint.

please, please let this start to go away today. i have to sit in a brutal training class for 4 days this week, i can't do it with my throat on fire.

(oh -- and i got a call from the casting director last night, they do want to bring me back for some close-ups in the bollywood movie. tomorrow. which is day 1 of my class, so i had to turn it down. i could cry.)

things that are making me happy tonight, even though i'm sick as a dog*...

1. i ran out to CVS to restock my cough drops, cold medicine, and tissues w/lotion... as i took my bag o' sick stuff off the counter to leave, the pharmacy tech called out "hey, i hope you feel better". i guess it was obvious that all of those items were for me... but it was nice to hear.

2. when i came home, i pulled into my driveway and came face-to-face with a young deer. s/he moseyed off to the side a bit, i slowly got out of my car, and we both stood there for a while checking each other out. i love deer, they are so incredibly beautiful... and i'm glad i finally saw one in my yard. jack has seen deer poopies in my yard, i'm guessing they're eating the fallen crabapples from one of my trees... but this was my first sighting in my yard. awww.

3. jack joined the game site i go on sometimes to play scrabble and gin and stuff. it's so dorky, but logging in to play a game and seeing a message from him saying "i love you" got me all stupid and schmoopy. har.


*where did that expression come from, anyway? is it a rabies thing?
