8 work hours to go before the weekend!
May. 22nd, 2008 07:19 ami'm glad i decided to take tomorrow off, it's going to make today that much better. :) i have such a list of things to do this weekend -- massive amounts of gardening, updating my website, making 2 hoops for a customer, a belated birthday party -- but there's also going to be plenty of veg time as well. jack and i are having an official "date night" tomorrow (dinenr and a movie), and i can't wait. yayyyyyyy holiday weekends!
i'm thinking of having a yard sale in a couple of weeks. i have so much stuff here that i don't need, much of it items that i either bought and used only once or gifts that i was given and never used. i could put it all on ebay, but the amount of time it would take to list and ship everything would be longer than a few hours sitting behind a table in front of my house. the thing that's keeping me from scheduling the yard sale already is the people -- i've only done one yard sale before, but the people who stopped to look were a pain in the butt and i'm not sure i have the energy to go through it again. the thing that drives me the craziest are the people who arrive 1-2 hours early, trying to get first crack at everything while you're setting up... "i'll give you $2 for this entire tray of jewelry." "i know this antique table says $50, but i'll give you $10 for it." and all you want them to do is get out of your way so you can get ready. grrrrrrrr. especially in this age of eBay, almost everyone who attends a yard sale is looking for stuff to turn around and re-sell the next day... and they're annoying as hell trying to lower your price so they can make an extra 50 cents when they sell it.
on a happier note, i'm so psyched: jack is taking a dance class with me in a couple of weeks! w00t! my dance studio is doing a west coast swing "beginner bootcamp" where you get an entire level 1 series of classes in 1 day for $50. he'll be able to learn enough moves that we can dance a bit at weddings and such... soooooo excited!
