WEEKEND!!!!!!

this has been a butt-kicker of a week. very productive, but a bad combination of out-of-state travel, a class to help teach, and a major deadline looming that kept me working until late every night. wednesday afternoon, 3 people asked me if i was ok, told me that i looked awful. if people are bold enough to say that, you know you're run down! so tonight is all about vegging out... i've already warned jack that i just want to crash on the couch and fall asleep way too early. i'm going to be no use to anyone over the weekend if i don't recharge my batteries tonight.
can you believe, tomorrow is the 6-month "anniversary" of our first date?!? wow, does time fly. sheesh. (yes, we're going to dinner and a vintage car show to celebrate. if we spent an anniversary this early snoring on the couch, i'd just throw in the towel.)
talked to the waterproofing guy last night, and once again, angie's list rocks my socks off. first off, the company sent me all the info ahead of time so i'd understand what might need to be done... plus they sent me a photo of my consultant since i'd be letting him in my house. the guy was nice, actually used to do the grunt work on these waterproofing jobs so he understands what needs to be done... and gave me very clear, logical reasons as to why the work the other 2 companies (last fall) suggested would have gone bad after just a couple of years. and the work he recommended? $1400 LESS than those other companies, and guaranteed for the life of the house. w00t!
