it amazes me how quickly my life can switch from relaxing, fun vacation weekend to absolute hell.

this week, and the next couple of weeks, are turning into a nightmare. on so many levels. and i'm not exaggerating when i say that i'm not sure how i'm going to handle it all:

work: i have a project due monday, that i've barely started yet because i'm in class all day this week. i'm in class-mode from 6:30am to 8pm, and then somehow have to wrap my brian around this project, whcih is hard to do. THEN, i have another one due in 2 weeks that i haven't started yet... and i won't get the materials to start it until this friday. factor in the holiday weekend, with boston folks coming in to stay with me, and i'm smelling a disater.

home: the home front is even worse. my handyman is coming in tonight to finish re-wiring my downstairs outlets... i really need to get a dehumidifier down there, because my downstairs bathroom has been a bit moist. well, i went into the bathroom last night to clean it (i'm hardly ever down there), and it's bad -- mold all long the baseboards, and big sheets of paint peeling off the walls. those i can deal with once the dehumidifier does its thing, but it's the even WORSE problem i'm worried about -- PLANT ROOTS crawling along the tile floor. there was nary a root anywhere when i moved in last month, and all of a sudden they're coming out from under the baseboards, and even out from under the toilet! i'm freaking out that my house is going to crumble to the ground in a matter of weeks. and the thing is, who do i call? a landscaper, to dig up the yard and pull out the roots? someone to re-do my foundation? i fear that i'm looking at tens of thousands of dollars in repairs, and i don't have a penny for it. oh my god.
