that would be my achy joints. spent 6 hours today doing yard and housework, and WOW do i hurt. got a lot done, dad and the bro came over and we basically ripped up anything smaller than a bush. dad trimmed some of the bushes and tree limbs, i raked all the branches and leaves from the yard, the bro dug up the stone "staircase" (more like a rickety accident waiting to happen) at the side of the house, as well as the awful landscaping at the back of the house. and... lo and behold! i have a small brick patio next to my deck! you'd never know it before because it was overgrown with weeds (did these people EVER lift a finger to take care of this house?)... but i pulled all those suckers out, and there you go. hung up most of my decoratey stuff inside, as well... i'll take pix tonight once i clean a little bit.

i laid low yesterday, since i was coming down off the whole illness thing. i went for a couple of hours of spa time with [livejournal.com profile] swingdoc (i could really use that massage NOW), then we went back to her place for a big awesome salad and lo-carb ice cream. i stayed in last night, because i knew how much i was going to have to exert myself today and didn't want to push my health... which is a bummer, because i really would have liked to see [livejournal.com profile] jeremym's trapeeze performance in baltimore, or hung out with [livejournal.com profile] boutell during his 24-hour blogathon (check out his LJ... he wrote 48 sonnets in 24 hours, and they're awesome).

so, that was my exciting weekend. photos to come later tonight...

so, y'all remember my post from a week or so agao, that a guy i'd known in college (the ex of one of my girlfriends) died of complications from a brain tumor. instead of holding a formal memorial service, his wife and friends are organizing a fun tribute to him featuring all sorts of improv comedy, clips of some of his performances, and other wackiness. it should be a really fun, moving night, and all proceeds go to thomas jefferson memorial (where mike was cared for in his last months).

the information is below; i bought a general admission ticket, and would love it if some of you guys could come as well. we could sit together and, you know, laugh and stuff. the thing is, tickets are going to go FAST. seriously. not only are there a lot of people who are coming in to philly to pay tribute to mike, but the performers themselves (many of them from comedysportz) will bring in a crowd as well.
