wookin' pa nub...

i actually finished work before 10pm tonight. what did i do, considering that i was trapped indoors due to the icy roads outside my door? went on the yahoo personals. i'd given them up a week or so ago, because the couple of people i was chatting with/meeting just weren't right for me. this time i took a different tactic -- instead of sticking to the criteria i'd set, i started reading the profile of anyone who looked even remotely nice and non-psycho. and there were a few people i actually ended up writing to, so maybe i'll meet a nice new friend or two.

but the kicker is... when i opened my search up, who did i discover on the site but S, an old friend of mine from college!!! S was a good friend of a guy i dated my freshman year, and our little circle all stayed friends until most of them graduated the year before me. i've thought about him constantly over the years, because he was just one of the funniest people i've ever known. seriously, just last weekend i was telling the karaoke guy i'd met about a "west side story" parody that S used to sing in school, that still has me laughing 17 years later. how funny will this be if i'm able to reconnect with an old buddy??? would certainly make it easier to have someone to hang with on a free night...
