the rollercoaster continues
Dec. 14th, 2005 09:38 pmanother long day, although i got in at 8:30 instead of 7am. felt like a vacation. actually, i was supposed to take 1/2 vacation day today, but things are so busy i had to stay the whole day. same with tomorrow. i'll probably lose 2 or 3 vacation days by the end of the year, due to the sheer volume of work that has to get done. meh.
the day was crazy... bad stuff happened, good stuff happened, bad stuff happened again. then this evening, one of my teammates (who's also sort of my mentor on the job) called me at home to go over some work stuff... the first words out of his mouth were, "i have to tell you how amazed i am at how quickly you've picked this job up... you've learned it quicker than i ever could have." and that just made my night. heck, my MONTH. to hear from the rockstar of the department that he's impressed with my work... it helps make up for the 16-hour days and the stress.
and to make things even better, i'm getting my flu shot tomorrow... the company purchased a bunch of doses, and they're immunizing us for free. so i can get my shot without rushing to pick a doctor down here (i didn't know when i was going to do it, considering my schedule).
hey, do my philly peeps have any doctor recommendations? how the heck do you find a decent one, anyway?
