ACKACKACKiamsooooosickandgross...
been spending the morning barfing and various other colorful things. i can't tell if i have a stomach bug or food poisoning. hrm. all i know is, i want to surgically remove the gerbil that seems to be running around inside my stomach! ARGH! D is out getting me gatorade and saltines to make me feel a bit better... it'll kill the diet for a day or two, but screw it. i want my tummy back. (oh, and i'm down 3 pounds, pre-barf-fest. yay.)
last night was a lot of fun... D and i went to a folk concert at harvard to celebrate club passim, which is a folk-y club that's been around since the 60s and was celebrating a birthday. it was very "mighty wind"ish, lots of different modern folk styles represented and only 2 performances that i wasn't too crazy about. there were a couple that completely knocked my socks off though, including one band of young guys who played the mandolin and banjo as if they were electric guitars. seriously, this one guy was like the freakin' eddie van halen of the banjo, it was awesome. :) alison krauss and union station were the big draw, and went on last... but the concert ran way over because of all the people who wanted to say tributes and stuff... so instead of the show going from 7pm-11pm, it went from 7pm to almost ONE am. eek. that was almost 6 hours of sitting, in the most uncomfortable seat ever... the venue used to be a church, so all the seating is in wooden, upright pews. awful, awful.
by the time we got home, i was exhausted and starving... and wanting to be good with the diet, i ate a slice of cheddar cheese and a half of an orange i had in the fridge. woke up nauseous. i wonder if the orange was bad?... it tasted darn good going down. hrm.
